"The weather’s hot, but that’s nothing compared to the habaneros! Salsa music, salsa dancing, salsa tasting, salsa making, and more! (Did we mention the hot pepper eating contest?) What better way to celebrate “local foods week” than by sampling the best of the fresh summer salsa our local connoisseurs can concoct?
Attendants of the festival will have the option to purchase a tasting kit for $5 (includes one bag of chips, a tasting plate and a ballot). Tasters will submit their ballots and the votes will be tallied for the Tasters Choice Award. Celebrity judges will also be on hand."
We also watched a Chiuaua Dog Race where we saw some really funny loooking puppies! Then we enjoyed downtown Tulsa before heading to Cosmo's, a little restuarant in Brookside, with our friends Michael and Tina. Then we went and watched Thor! Great movie!
Saturday morning we woke up and went to two Farmer's Markets and got some tomatoes, onions and mint plants to add to our plant box with our basil. Then, I spent sometime at home planting the mint plants while Steve worked on our bikes.
