Updates coming soon!

As you all know it has been 3 months and 5 days since I last posted!  And you probably also know that a lot has happened between now and then.

1. Steve & I got married (woooo hoooo!)
2. Steve & I went on an amazing honeymoon to Park City, Utah (pictures one my Facebook page)
3. Steve & I moved to Tulsa, Ok

So, life has been crazy! We are all settled in to our new home (apartment) and loving it. I have a wonderful time decorating, trying new recipes and even planting a few spices out on our little patio.  And Steve definitely impressed me with all of the handy work he did around the apartment!  He was busy putting together furniture, hanging pictures and setting anything and everything up! Here are a few pictures!

We transferred to an Olive Garden here in Tulsa and are currently working there until I find a more permanent PR job and Steve will continue working there part time while he goes to ORU.  He eventually would like to work part for a church or something a little more degree related, but it pays the bills until then!

Anyway, before I go I'd like to share our lunch with you!  Steve and I made home-made pizzette, which are mini pizza's.  We made the dough and sauce from scratch then topped them with fresh mushrooms,
artichokes, hame and home-made brushchetta.  They were wonderful!  If you'd like the recipe just send me a facebook message and I'd be happy to share!

Too Long!

So I have learned that my wonderful sister Erica is definitely better at blogging than I am!  I know it has been a long time but I figured it's a good time to update you!

First, wedding invitation will be going out soooon!  Less than 2 months until our big day and we are getting more and more excited by the minute! To make time go by faster we have things going on every single weekend leading up to our wedding, including three other wedding!  We are also having a lot of fun thinking about all the neat ways to decorate and make our day unique and memorable.

We had our last spring break this year and decided to go on a little trip.  Steve, me and five others piled in a big 12 passenger and made our way down to the Lake of the Ozarks for five days.  We decided to leave early to try to avoid a storm that was supposed to hit the next morning but ended up driving right in the middle of it...it meaning a blizzzaaarrrdd!  The usual 3-3 1/2 hour drive took us 5 1/2 hours!  It was crazy!

I also celebrated my 22nd birthday while at the lake!  22 is such a great age!  I will graduate from college at age 22, marry the most wonderful man in the world at age 22, move to a great city at age 22 and start my career at age 22!! Wonderful time in my life!!  Also, Erica made me a wondering batch of sugar cookies that spelled something! Take a look :)

Other than that, life has been crazy busy, but fun as usual!  Working, going to school and planning a wedding! I'll try my best to keep this updated with all the fun stuff coming up!

Our Weekend in Tulsa

Steve and I just got back from spending five days down in Tulsa, our future city! It was graduate theology weekend at ORU and I set up a few networking meetings with PR professionals in the area.  It was a wonderful weekend.  We both feel like our time spent there confirmed that Tulsa is where God wants us.  Not only was everyone wonderful at ORU, all of the PR people I met with were extremely helpful. Along with visiting ORU and my meetings we were able to spend some time with our good friends Micky and Louanne, my parents first friends when the moved to Tulsa 29 years ago!  And, my Mom and Dad drove in Friday evening so we spent Friday evening and all day Saturday with them!  My mom and I went to the Extraordinary Women's conference Friday night and got to see Casting Crowns, while my Dad and Steve went to a musical put on by ORU! Saturday we spent just about all day apartment shopping, we think we found the perfect fit for us! Anyway, of course I forgot my camera so I don't have any great candid photo's to post, but here are a few showing what we did!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

This past week was not a good one for me, but Steve was spared! I was sick all last week with Bronchitis, a sinus infection and a fever.  Thankfully, I am feeling much better but not 100% back to normal yet.  My body is still kind of achy and I am tired, but I'm sure I'll be back to normal soon!  However, I still have some pictures to share from the weekend.

On Saturday Steve participated in a fundraiser called The Polar Plunge which raises money for the Special Olympics.  He had to raise $75+ dollars to participate and since he met that he had the "privilege" of running into a freezing cold lake!!!  It is one of Special Olympics largest fundraiser, raising $45,000+ dollars in Northwest, MO this year!

Two Years!!!

Steve and I celebrated our two year "anniversary" this past Friday. I write "anniversary" in quotes because now that we are getting married it feels strange to be talking about our dating anniversary. Anyway, we had a wonderful time! First we headed towards Overland Park, KS to go to Nebraska Furniture Mart. We wanted to look at couches not really intending to buy anything but ended up getting a great deal on a couch!!! Here it is!
After that we headed to the Plaza in Kansas City. I heard from a friend that there is movie theater on the Plaza so we decided to try it out. We were expecting it to be a little run down because the tickets are only $4 before 6pm and $6 after 6pm, compared to the usual $9 but it was actually really nice! We had to go across a walkway that overlooked the Plaza to get to our theater and the seats were very comfortable! We saw The King's Speech which was an amazing movie with the exception of two cussing scenes the director just had to throw in there to bump up the rating...
Then we headed over to California Pizza Kitchen to get some dinner! Great restaurant!

After a great night on the Plaza we decided to head home but made one more stop at Bed, Bath & Beyond! We are registering there for our wedding so we started the initial process... I didn't realize how much of a process it actually is! I'll let everyone know when were done. The lady we met with said we are supposed to registered for 3 times as many gifts as guests we are expecting...we are expecting about 250 guests...that means 750 items! We have scanned 53 so far! Ha! Well, that was the extent of our date!! Great night :)

P.S. Here are some pictures from when Erica was visiting and we got color swatches and made my veil!!!
