Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!
This past week was not a good one for me, but Steve was spared! I was sick all last week with Bronchitis, a sinus infection and a fever. Thankfully, I am feeling much better but not 100% back to normal yet. My body is still kind of achy and I am tired, but I'm sure I'll be back to normal soon! However, I still have some pictures to share from the weekend.
On Saturday Steve participated in a fundraiser called The Polar Plunge which raises money for the Special Olympics. He had to raise $75+ dollars to participate and since he met that he had the "privilege" of running into a freezing cold lake!!! It is one of Special Olympics largest fundraiser, raising $45,000+ dollars in Northwest, MO this year!
After the Polar Plunge Steve and I went to the Missouri Western vs. Northwest basketball game. Northwest is Western's biggest rival! Steve and I had this vision of starting a new tradition at Western. We were inspired by a YouTube video we saw of a John Brown University basketball game. At John Brown, when the first shot is scored at the first home game of the season the entire home crowd throws toilet paper onto the court. We did something similar at this game. When the first shot was scored everyone in the crowd threw black and gold streamers straight up in the air. We told people not to throw it on the court to prevent getting a technical foul, but of course there was one person who had to be a rebel...so we got a technical. Everyone loved it though...not the foul, the streamers!

Two Years!!!
Steve and I celebrated our two year "anniversary" this past Friday. I write "anniversary" in quotes because now that we are getting married it feels strange to be talking about our dating anniversary. Anyway, we had a wonderful time! First we headed towards Overland Park, KS to go to Nebraska Furniture Mart. We wanted to look at couches not really intending to buy anything but ended up getting a great deal on a couch!!! Here it is!
After that we headed to the Plaza in Kansas City. I heard from a friend that there is movie theater on the Plaza so we decided to try it out. We were expecting it to be a little run down because the tickets are only $4 before 6pm and $6 after 6pm, compared to the usual $9 but it was actually really nice! We had to go across a walkway that overlooked the Plaza to get to our theater and the seats were very comfortable! We saw The King's Speech which was an amazing movie with the exception of two cussing scenes the director just had to throw in there to bump up the rating...
Then we headed over to California Pizza Kitchen to get some dinner! Great restaurant!
After a great night on the Plaza we decided to head home but made one more stop at Bed, Bath & Beyond! We are registering there for our wedding so we started the initial process... I didn't realize how much of a process it actually is! I'll let everyone know when were done. The lady we met with said we are supposed to registered for 3 times as many gifts as guests we are expecting...we are expecting about 250 guests...that means 750 items! We have scanned 53 so far! Ha! Well, that was the extent of our date!! Great night :)
P.S. Here are some pictures from when Erica was visiting and we got color swatches and made my veil!!!
